I search for magic in the most ordinary things

Because when I close my eyes I have to hope

There’s a better reason to open them again

If I can turn a firefly into a fairy

And moths into monarchs

Then my gray skies have the chance

To hold the rainbow when it spills over.

Magic can be ordinary too I’ve found it

In late phone calls knowing someone cares

To the glimmer of a new message reminding me

Something’s still there

To look up behind the gray

I can find glitter in the air.

So just know there’s magic in the simple

It’s beautiful and kind

It’s not always extrodinary

Sometimes it’s just ordinary

And that just fine.
